COVID-19 Update March 15

The current COVID-19 situation has us all a little anxious and trying to do what is best for our families and communities. The School District continues to be in constant communication with Northern Health and the Ministry of Education, both of whom know that we are the only BC school district open this week. Our school calendar is decided and consulted on in advance and we have typically been later than other school districts to allow for the ‘break up’ of our logging families.

We respect that many of you will be struggling with the decision to send your children to school this week and for that reason, I have communicated to our principals that any students away this week will not lose marks or be required to make up missed work. We respect that this is an incredibly stressful and extra-ordinary situation and want to ensure that we minimize stress for students and families.

Please continue to watch our website and our Facebook page for further updates.

Sincerely,

Manu Madhok
Superintendent of Schools
